Talk at the 2024 Northwest Astrology Conference (NORWAC) in Seattle

The popularity of diagnostic language — trauma, PTSD, narcissism, addiction — means people coming to astrologers use these terms as a primary language. Yet this language is rarely experienced as myth, metaphor, or story, but rather as a ‘thing’. How do we get behind such labels to a wider field of meaning? Avoiding the trap of correlating astrological ‘things’ to psychological ‘things’, we’ll explore practical ways astrologers can render diagnostic categories translucent to deeper stories of soul astrological symbols evoke.
